An offering from Prose City
The Undercurrent is a periodic, intentional gathering for those who crave rich, idea-centered conversation and artistic expression. Inspired by the spirit of the Enlightenment-era European salons – yet grounded in an ethos of equity, warmth, and curiosity – this is an unpretentious, welcoming space where intellect, empathy, and imagination meet.
Each salon centers on a selected theme that serves as the spark for wide-ranging, open-ended conversation. There are no “right” answers here – only shared inquiry, a willingness to sit with complexity, and the joy of nuanced exploration.
As with all Prose City gatherings, we abide by our collectively crafted community conversation agreements. We ask all participants to read and honor these agreements in the spirit of mutual care and presence.
We do not charge for our events. All time, labor, and expense are offered freely by the Prose City crew to our beloved community. That said, we believe artists deserve to be honored and compensated. At certain events, we may offer an opportunity to contribute voluntarily in support of our performers and creative collaborators.
